| BVC Members Support Writers Workshops |
Clarion West and Clarion UCSD are holding fundraising “Write-a-thons” during their annual writers’ workshops. Writers have pledged to do a certain amount of work and are seeking sponsors to support their efforts with donations.
All donations go to the workshops.
BVC members Vonda N. McIntyre and Nancy Jane Moore are participating for
Clarion West, while Amy Sterling Casil and Judith Tarr are writing for
Clarion UCSD.

Book View Café Hits 1000th Member Mark and Announces New Anthology
Several
months shy of their first anniversary, Book View Café, the Internet's
first professional author's cooperative, has acquired its 1000th
registered user.
The celebration of the 1000th member includes prize
drawings, special recorded messages from the authors, and an exciting
new announcement: the creation of Book View Café's first original
fiction collection; THE SHADOW CONSPIRACY.

Improbable Adventures of Sherlock Holmes now on sale
Vonda N. McIntyre’s “The Adventure of the Field Theorems,”
a Sherlock Holmes scientific romance, appears in John Joseph
Adams’ anthology The Improbable Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, published by Night Shade Books, September 2009.
IO9 says:
“The Adventure of the Field Theorems” by Vonda N. McIntyre is a sharp
and very funny look at the differences between Sherlock Holmes and his
