kerr-daggerspell_200.jpg The Lass from Far Away

Eldidd, 1060

I wrote this story in 2008, in response to Mark Deniz’s asking for a contribution to an anthology. Bizarrely enough, this story should have been part of Daggerspell, which I wrote in 1983 and revised in 1987.  I cannot tell you why it didn’t occur to me back then, except to remark that the writer’s mind is often really strange.

Parsley, Space, Rosemary, and Time

Parsley, Space, Rosemary, and Time

Aladdin in outer space sounds like an odd concept, but it intrigued me enough to write this story. The only way to approach it, though, was with humor.

Its Own Reward

Its Own Reward

A murder mystery set in the fairly near future involving the death of a prominent alien leader.

The Skull’s Tale

The Skull’s Tale

Ever wondered what a dinosaur thought about? I did.

The Fourth Concealment of the Island of Britain

The Fourth Concealment of the Island of Britain

An Arthurian tale. The title comes from the Trioedd Ynis Prydain, a sort of “bard&lrsquo;s handbook,” where themes and incidents are given in groups of three.

Cui Bono?

Cui Bono?

I wrote this as an exercise in alternate history — at least, I hope it’s alternate history and not something the CIA is keeping from us.

The Bargain

The Bargain

I rarely write short fiction set in my main fantasy world, Annwn, where Deverry lies. This novelet, which originally appeared in the Sisters in Fantasy anthology, is an exception.
